Volunteer For WES

Be A Guest Teacher

Volunteer as a teacher to deliver educational lessons to students who lack access to quality education.

As a guest teacher, you’ll have the chance to deliver engaging sessions on computers and digital literacy. This opportunity allows you to connect with students, share practical skills, and inspire them with real-world insights into technology and its applications. You’ll be instrumental in fostering digital confidence and curiosity among young learners.

What exactly you’ll do:

  • You’ll have the lesson plan that contains the content and session guide, using the content you’ll teach online.
  • Before the session you may review the content and adopt it according to your experience and style.

The Lesson Plan: See a comprehensive lesson plan modules HERE to familiarise you with the lesson structure, expectations, and resources available.

How It Happens:

  • Online via Google Meet: Our platform facilitates seamless online sessions, connecting you directly to a classroom facilitated by our team. A WES facilitator will be physically present with the students, ensuring smooth communication and support during the session.
  • Preparation and Delivery: You’ll start with an introduction to establish rapport, followed by the lesson based on content provided by WES. You’re encouraged to integrate personal experiences, industry insights, and interactive elements to make the lessons engaging and relatable.
  • Interactive Approach: Incorporate Q&A segments, real-life examples, or mini-activities that demonstrate digital concepts in practice, allowing students to visualize the material.

Frequency:

  • Weekly: You have the flexibility to choose the frequency—whether once a week or multiple times based on your schedule and availability.
  • Each session is designed to be 1 hour long, ensuring focused and impactful learning for the students.

Timing:

  • 5 PM – 6 PM: Sessions are scheduled in the evening to accommodate volunteer availability.

Outcomes:

  • Knowledge Transfer: Equip students with critical digital skills, making them proficient and confident in using technology.
  • Exposure to Real-Life Experiences: By sharing your professional journey, you help bridge the gap between theory and practice, providing students with a vision of future career paths.
  • Increased Engagement: Interactive and tailored teaching methods boost student interest, participation, and retention of concepts.
