Hello, I’m Riya Tiwari, a 24-year-old teacher at Dhanpuri Public School (DPS), under the Wes Foundation. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree, a diploma in Computer Application, and an MSW degree. Becoming a teacher was never in my initial plans, but after trying it out, I fell in love with the profession. I cherish the time I spend with the kids and the unique bonds I form with each student, which is why I love teaching now.
A Vision for Inclusive Education
Our vision at the Wes Foundation is to bridge the gap in education and provide opportunities for underprivileged children to grow and succeed. We believe that every child deserves access to quality education, and we are working tirelessly to make that a reality. Education is crucial for the children at DPS as it helps them develop critical thinking skills, build confidence, and overcome obstacles. Our students face unique challenges, and education provides them with the tools they need to succeed in life.

Education is the cornerstone of a better future. It is the only thing that can truly change one’s life and open doors to new opportunities. I think education is vital and plays an essential role in everyone’s life, especially in children. At DPS, we strive to ensure that our students receive a holistic education that prepares them for success in all areas of life.
Making a Difference
I have been teaching for two and a half years and am considering pursuing the integrated teacher education program to further enhance my skills and knowledge. The Wells Foundation is doing a remarkable job. It’s inspiring to see how dedicated individuals at Wes are working tirelessly for children, helping them, and creating positive change in society. We have numerous programs aimed at making our students’ futures brighter, including computer classes, FSD classes, and Spoken English classes.

Teaching has been an incredible journey filled with experiences I never imagined. Each day brings new lessons and opportunities for growth. Through our outreach programs, we go door to door, talking to parents and children, meeting people from all walks of life. We’ve learned so much from them and shared the importance of education and how it can change the future of both children and their parents. Some people are very interested, while others are not, but we are making a difference, and even small changes matter.
Focused Support and Vocational Training
Our outreach program has helped us identify areas where children need extra support. We have started classes that provide individual attention to students who need it most. Additionally, we have launched vocational training programs to help students develop skills that will benefit them in the future. DPS Dhanpuri is dedicated to giving children a better future, especially tribal kids and girls.

Ongoing Teacher Development
We are committed to providing ongoing training and development opportunities for teachers like me to make learning more engaging and interactive. The Wes Foundation supports us with training on various methods to create an engaging classroom environment. I learn from my students daily, seeing things from their perspective and sometimes rediscovering the world with fresh eyes. This journey has taught me so much about myself, the world, and different types of pupils. I have faced different situations here and learned how to deal with them effectively.
Thank you, Wes Foundation, and Dhanpuri Public School, for your unwavering support and commitment to education. Together, we are making a real difference in the lives of our students. We are dedicated to giving our students the best possible education and creating a brighter future for them.
