The WES Foundation’s Community Outreach Program (COP) continues to strengthen its mission of bridging the gap between education and communities by meeting families in their homes. These visits foster trust, spread awareness about education, and help families feel actively involved in their children’s academic journey. This week, the outreach efforts were enriched by the presence of Isabel Rabadan, a dedicated volunteer from Belgium, who joined Muskan and Afifa Mam to visit the homes of our students.
One of the key visits during this outreach was to Malaika’s home. Her mother welcomed the team warmly and expressed deep appreciation for the opportunities the WES Foundation has created for her daughter. Malaika is currently enrolled in the Foundation’s computer classes, and her mother shared how proud she feels seeing her daughter develop essential skills that are crucial for today’s world.
During the visit, Malaika’s mother emphasized how much her daughter enjoys the computer classes. She described Malaika as a hardworking student, dedicated to her studies and eager to learn. Her mother also highlighted how the program has positively impacted Malaika’s confidence and interest in academics. She mentioned that Malaika’s progress has encouraged the family to prioritize education even more.

While discussing the program, Malaika’s mother pointed out a concern regarding the late timing of the classes during the cold season. She mentioned that it becomes challenging for Malaika to attend classes after 5:30 PM due to the drop in temperature. The team assured her that the Foundation would consider this feedback and explore ways to adjust schedules to ensure students’ comfort and safety.
Isabel played a vital role during the visit, reinforcing the importance of computer education and how it prepares students for a rapidly evolving digital world. She explained to Malaika’s mother how technology skills can open doors to better opportunities and enable children to thrive academically and professionally. Her words resonated deeply with Malaika’s mother, who expressed her determination to continue supporting her daughter’s education.
This visit underscored the importance of community engagement in education. By connecting directly with families, the WES Foundation fosters a shared commitment to students’ success. The dialogue with Malaika’s mother reflected a mutual understanding of the significance of learning and highlighted the value of addressing practical challenges like class timings to ensure consistent participation.
The outreach program is not just about spreading awareness but also about building strong relationships with families and understanding their unique needs. Visits like these inspire confidence in parents and students alike, reminding them that they are part of a larger community working toward the same goal—empowering children through education.

Malaika’s story is a testament to the impact of the WES Foundation’s efforts. Her mother’s pride, coupled with Malaika’s dedication, illustrates how education can transform lives and inspire entire families to value learning. With volunteers like Isabel and the unwavering support of the team, the Foundation continues to create meaningful change, one home at a time.
The WES Foundation’s Community Outreach Program reaffirms its belief that education is a shared responsibility. By addressing challenges, celebrating achievements, and fostering collaboration, the program ensures that every child has the support they need to succeed, no matter the circumstances. Together, we are building a future where education is not just a privilege but a fundamental right for all.
