My Journey with WES Foundation: A Life-Changing Experience By Alisha Siddiqi

Alisha Sidduiqui Holding Book

My name is Alisha Siddiqi, I am 19 years old, and I am currently in the first year of my B.C.A. (Bachelor of Computer Applications). My parents both have their own businesses—my father runs an auto dealership, and my mother owns a clothing shop. I live with my grandparents as well. My grandfather, who used to work, retired a few years ago and has been unwell due to health issues. However, at present, both my grandparents are doing fine.

Joining WES Foundation and Overcoming My Nervousness

I am associated with the WES Foundation, where I attend classes. Initially, I used to attend computer classes offered by the foundation. Through these classes, I learned a lot of things, including new activities like how to present in front of others and how to speak confidently. These are things we don’t typically get taught anywhere else around here.

In the beginning, I was very nervous about presenting or speaking in front of others, but gradually, with practice, I gained confidence. We worked on improving our mistakes and speaking better each time. After that, I attended classes for 10th and 12th grades, with teachers who guided me along the way. I even took online classes for physics and chemistry. Now, I am learning coding and currently studying HTML. We have already learned many things, and new concepts are being introduced. The best part is that these computer classes are free of cost for children.

A Supportive Learning Environment

What makes WES Foundation stand out is that they organize classrooms where children can laugh and learn together. We have excellent teachers, and access to technology makes learning even more efficient. Recently, Dhanpuri Public School (DPS) opened here, offering classes from nursery up to 5th grade. The school provides free uniforms and books, which has been a great help for me and my family. This school is better than private schools, and it’s free of cost. Each subject has dedicated teachers, ensuring that all the students receive quality education.

Inspirational Saturday Classes

For the children, new activities are constantly being introduced, which is one of the best features of WES Foundation. Every Saturday, there is a virtual class where we meet new people who share their life stories. They talk about their childhood, growing up in middle-class families, and how they reached their current success.

Instead of only focusing on their achievements, they share their failures and how they overcame them. They speak about their education, and the children get the opportunity to ask questions and clear any doubts about their future. These Saturday classes are the best because every week, inspirational people come and share their experiences with confidence.

Building Confidence and Gaining New Skills

WES Foundation has also helped build my confidence in other ways. We have access to recording equipment and news, and there is a library where we can borrow books that help improve our reading skills. My friend Ayesha has also learned a lot here. Whenever we have doubts or questions, we can always ask the teachers, who guide us on what is right and wrong. Many resources are provided to us, and everything is made possible through this foundation.

I am incredibly grateful to WES Foundation for allowing me to be a part of this amazing journey. The knowledge and confidence I have gained here are invaluable, and I will always cherish the opportunities I have received. Thank you, WES Foundation, for being such an important part of my growth and education.
