My name is Shahnaz, and I am a teacher at Dhanpuri Public School. I am 38 years old and come from a middle-class family where education was highly valued. Growing up, I didn’t receive the guidance I needed, which fueled my passion for teaching. I want to bring positive changes to children’s lives, changes that I didn’t experience myself.I serve as both the kindergarten mother teacher for KG one and the Hindi teacher for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd classes at Dhanpuri Public School.

Prioritizing Marginalized Students

At Dhanpuri Public School, we prioritize girls and students who have faced barriers to education. Our focus is on those who are academically weak but have a strong desire to move forward. Here, education isn’t confined to textbooks. We emphasize practical examples and activities that foster overall development, ensuring our students not only learn but thrive. As Nelson Mandela said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” We believe in this power and strive to harness it for the betterment of our students.

Holistic Development

In my role as a kindergarten teacher, I share my knowledge and experiences, hoping to inspire my students to move forward in their lives. I believe education should instill academic knowledge as well as moral and social values. Our aim is to support those who want to study but can’t, ensuring every child has the opportunity to achieve their dreams.

Education is crucial because it gives children direction, makes them self-reliant, and enhances their contribution to society. In schools like ours, education helps children realize their dreams. We strive to support them every step of the way. The children in our school learn something new every day, engaging in activities that keep them active and excited about learning. They come to school happily and enjoy their time here.

Impact on Tribal Communities

One of the aspects I am most proud of is how Dhanpuri Public School, with the support of the WES Foundation, is making a significant impact on marginalized tribal children. The WES Foundation’s commitment to helping these children access education is truly commendable. In many tribal areas, education is not readily available, and children often face social and economic barriers that prevent them from attending school.

Education in these marginalized tribal areas is essential because it provides children with the tools to break the cycle of poverty. It opens up new opportunities and empowers them to build better futures for themselves and their communities. By focusing on the needs of tribal children, we ensure they receive the same opportunities as others, which is vital for their personal growth and development.

Creating an Environment for Success

The WES Foundation and our dedicated team at Dhanpuri Public School are creating an environment where every child can thrive. We focus on their overall development, ensuring they learn moral values and social skills alongside academic knowledge. We want every child to speak confidently in English and cooperate with one another.

Moreover, we as teachers learn from our students every day. Their enthusiasm and curiosity inspire us to do better. Our goal is to ensure that every child in our school achieves their goals and moves forward in life with confidence. We are grateful to the WES Foundation and Dhanpuri Public School for their unwavering support and dedication to improving the lives of these children. As William Butler Yeats beautifully put it, “Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire.” This fire is what we aim to ignite in each of our students.

Our mission is to make sure every child receives a holistic education that empowers them to realize their dreams. Education is especially important in marginalized tribal areas because it gives children the opportunity to escape poverty and build better futures. We are here to support and stand by them, helping them grow into confident and capable individuals. This is the impact we strive to create at Dhanpuri Public School, with the invaluable support of the Wes Foundation. Together, we are making a difference.

“The beautiful thing about learning is that no one can take it away from you.” This quote from B.B. King perfectly encapsulates our belief in the enduring power of education. By focusing on these key areas, we ensure that education at Dhanpuri Public School not only enlightens young minds but also empowers them to shape a brighter future for themselves and their communities.
